Touchdown Leh
Arrival and strict hotel rest to acclimatize to 11,500 ft.

Leh Acclimatization
Visit Leh Palace and local markets. Briefing on the Zanskar route.
- 3Day 3
Drive to Kargil
Drive west via Lamayuru (Moonland). Cross the Fotu La pass. Overnight in Kargil.

Enter the Zanskar Valley
Drive south into the isolated Zanskar valley via the Suru Valley. Pass the imposing Nun Kun massifs. Overnight in Padum.

Phugtal Monastery
A moderate day hike to Phugtal, a monastery built like a honeycomb directly into a cliffside cave.
- 6Day 6
Padum Villages
Explore the local villages of Karsha and Stongdey. Experience raw, untouched Zanskari culture.
- 7Day 7
The Shingo La Route
Drive the newly constructed route crossing Shingo La towards Lahaul, experiencing some of the most dramatic landscapes in the Himalayas.
- 8Day 8
Tso Kar Transit
Navigate the rugged dirt roads toward the salt lake of Tso Kar. Spot wild Kiangs (Tibetan wild asses).
- 9Day 9
Tso Moriri Arrival
Reach the high-altitude wetland of Tso Moriri (14,836 ft). Less crowded than Pangong, deeply serene.
- 10Day 10
Lake Exploration
Walk the shores of Tso Moriri. Watch for bar-headed geese and Himalayan marmots popping out of their burrows.
- 11Day 11
Return to Leh
Drive back to Leh via the Chumathang hot springs. Final celebration dinner in Leh town.

Departure
Morning flights out of Leh.
