Drive from Chandigarh to Narkanda. Staying at a lower altitude (8,800 ft) helps acclimatization before hitting the high desert.

Into Kinnaur
Drive the infamous rock-carved cliff roads to Kalpa. Sunset views of the sacred Kinner Kailash peak.
- 3Day 3
Nako & Tabo
Enter the barren Spiti landscape. Stop at Nako Lake, then proceed to Tabo to see the 1,000-year-old mud monastery.

Dhankar to Kaza
Visit Dhankar Gompa, perched precariously on a cliff edge. Short hike to Dhankar Lake before arriving in Kaza, the valley headquarters.

Drive to Langza (hunt for marine fossils at 14,500 ft), send a postcard from Hikkim (highest post office), and drink tea in Komic.

Key & Kibber
Visit the iconic Key Monastery, looking like a fortress on a hill. Continue to Kibber and the dizzying Chicham Bridge.

Kunzum & Chandratal
Cross the Kunzum Pass (15,000 ft) to reach the moon-lake, Chandratal. Camp under a flawless, light-pollution-free night sky.
- 8Day 8
The Batal-Gramphu Road
Brace for the most adventurous off-road driving of your life alongside the Chandra River. Enter Lahaul and head to Manali via the Atal Tunnel.
- 9Day 9
Manali Wind Down
A slow day in Old Manali. Drink good coffee, eat wood-fired pizza, and let the altitude fatigue wash off.

Descent
Drive back to Chandigarh for departure.
